Belrick Turning Eccentrics

Eccentric Turning Services

Belrick specializes in turning off-center or “eccentric” parts up to 24” in diameter. One method of producing eccentrics utilizes a programmable eccentric chuck that is actuated by turning centers and can be set precisely to the amount and orientation of the offset.

When used on a twin spindle turning center, we can orientate multiple eccentric journals to each other. Using the Y-axis milling capabilities of our Doosan Puma 2000SY, we have been able to precisely time eccentric diameters to:

  • Gear Teeth
  • Slots
  • Oil Holes
  • Flats

We have also developed other methods for working with off-center parts. For instance, we have milled and externally bored eccentrics on castings.

Typical Eccentric Turning Parts

Over the years, we’ve used eccentric turning to produce:

  • Eccentric Shafts
  • Eccentric Bushings
  • Cylinders
  • End Covers
